Wall drying is part of moisture treatment. Capillary rise is a physical phenomenon caused by moisture coming from the ground and rising through the walls.

It can be considered a moisture problem. All porous materials in contact with the ground are affected. Water circulating in the soil comes into contact with masonry that did not receive a capillary break during construction. To stop capillary rise, the cause must be eliminated.

Every wall naturally generates an electrical potential difference from the ground, which propagates moisture. Water then rises through the porosity of the wall, maintaining the potential difference.

The principle of the ATE LC30 electronic drying unit is to generate a counteracting electric current in the wall. Drying damp walls (and also preventive drying) is achieved using an electronic unit placed directly on the wall: the drying unit.

The unit emits low electrical pulses into the wall towards the ground. This reverses the polarity of the existing electromagnetic fields in the wall and drives the water downwards.

Drying walls with an electronic unit is one of the main solutions to combat wall moisture caused by capillary rise (when moisture from the ground rises through the walls) or lateral infiltration due to hydrostatic pressure. It offers several advantages:

  • The drying of walls does not damage them at all: no vibrations, no drilling… Faster wall drying. Addresses the root cause of the problem. Well-suited for old or fragile walls. Effective.
  • Drying occurs within 18 to 24 months (depending on the specifics of the building and adherence to recommendations*).
  • The natural insulating power of the wall is enhanced, leading to reduced heating costs as the walls will be less humid.
  • It generates no noise or harmful waves, and consumes very little electricity.

Certifications:

  • Directive 2014/35/EU (Low Voltage)
  • Directive 2014/30/EU (EMC)

What is our ATE LC30 electromagnetic polarity inverter used for?

Our ATE LC30 electromagnetic polarity inverter is the solution for moisture problems in your home. It helps to dry the walls by reversing capillary rise.

How does our ATE LC30 electromagnetic polarity inverter work?

Our ATE LC30 electromagnetic polarity inverter emits a very low-frequency electromagnetic field that alters the orientation of water molecules. These molecules then fall by gravity into the foundations, carrying with them some of the salts responsible for efflorescence and moisture stains. Subsequently, the drying of the walls occurs through natural evaporation of moisture.

It is easily installed or mounted in the damp area, without affecting the masonry.

Result: Your walls will be dried within 18 to 24 months (depending on the specifics of the building and adherence to recommendations*).

1) INSTALLATION OF THE ATE LC30 ELECTROMAGNETIC POLARITY INVERTER:

  • The device must be installed at least 1.50 meters away from any electrical or electronic device.
  • Installation height: 30 cm minimum to 1 meter from the floor level.
  • The device should be mounted on the wall like a picture.
  • The device should not be moved.
  • The device should be placed directly on a load-bearing wall or partition wall (not on a plasterboard lining).
  • Know the dimensions of the building (mainly the largest diagonal) to determine if the effective diameter of a STOP ONE covers the entire building.
  • The ATE LC30 electromagnetic polarity inverter must be continuously connected, but its consumption is extremely low (only 0.75W, costing approximately 15€/year).

2) REMOVAL OF COATINGS OR FILMOGENIC RECOATINGS

  • It is recommended to remove the lower part of the wall coverings during the drying period to a height of about 10 cm above the degradation fringe to allow the walls to breathe.

3) VENTILATION OF THE BUILDING

  • Good air circulation is necessary since drying is partly achieved through evaporation. Therefore, ventilation is essential.
    • Install appropriate ventilation in your building.
    • Ensure that doors and windows meet standards (doors trimmed to a minimum of 1.5 cm in dry rooms and 2 cm in damp rooms).
    • Install ventilators in the windows.

4) RESTORATION OF COATINGS AND PAINT

  • When the walls are dry, the hygroscopic salts that sought moisture have migrated to the surfaces, and it is essential to brush off most of them. For perfect wall drying, not only must the walls be dry and healthy, but it is also crucial to prevent mineral salts from rising into the coatings.
    • We recommend redoing your façade coatings with lime and an additive against hygroscopic salts.

5) INSTALLATION OF A DRAIN

  • It is recommended to install a drain in case of lateral infiltration. The drainage system collects groundwater and expels it before it reaches the foundations.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Factors influencing the drying speed of walls include their thickness, composition, and coating, as well as adherence to our recommendations.

This type of procedure does not address infiltration, flooding issues, or mold in your home; these should be treated separately.
